NaPodPoMo Coming November 1st

napodpomo1National Podcast Post Month is imminent. Starting November 1st through the end of November I’ll be producing a podcast a day. Some will be good, others not so much.  Look for more of the Kringle Cast and a lot of the Last Word In Tech.

Here are the important links to bookmark:

  • NaPodPoMo.org – the social network over at Ning where you can sign up and be a part of the craziness. You can also get your feed in the collective feed for everyone signed up. Not everything is for everyone, but it’s fun to sample and hear someone you might not normally encounter.
  • NaPodPoMo.com – will take you to my category here on this website.

If you have any questions about how to create a podcast, be sure to check out my podcasting site, The Podcast Studio. Or, if you are interested in recording an episode or more with me, leave a comment below or send a message through Facebook.

NaPodPoMo Day 22 – Lessons and Music

Music Staff

What have you learned from this year’s NaPodPoMo so far?  What have I learned?

#1, I’m really impressed by shows like Keith and the Girl that put out an hour long show every day.  It would definitely help doing it as a full time job.

#2, podcasts don’t have to be perfect.  It’s okay to strive for a good sounding show, but don’t sweat it when there are pauses, ums and ahs.

NaPodPoMo Day 21 – iPhone Blues

iphone in handQuick show back in front of the microphone today.  Utterli was working great for the last couple days when I didn’t have access to the computer.  If you use Utterli, look me up on there.

I upgraded the iPhone to the new 2.2 firmware today.  It was less than successful the first time.  Luckily just a little bit of patience prevailed and the the use of a different USB port solved the problem.

I get off easy again today.  Today is the release day of the season finale of Fat 2 Fit Radio.  It’s a roll call of who’s who on our support forum over at Traineo.  It’s very inspirational hearing everybody’s story of how they gained weight, lost weight and found their way to our little podcast.

Talk to you tomorrow for Day 14 of NaPodPoMo.

NaPodPoMo Day 10 – Twitter and Qwitter

twitter logo

Do you use Twitter? I do and have often wondered why someone follows me.  I do a bunch of stuff online and post about that on Twitter.  I keep up with friends and keep friends informed as to what I’m doing.  But a lot of times someone follows me that doesn’t know me, doesn’t care what I’m doing, and is purely looking for a follow to spout their marketing BS.  That’s not for me.  If the person following me looks interesting, I might follow them back to give what their doing a chance.  If not, no big whoop, no follow.

Then there are those individuals that you follow and they reciprocate by following you.  Sometimes they quit following and you’re left with wondering, “Why?”  Enter Qwitter.  It’s a service the plugs into Twitter and sends you an e-mail with the username of a former follower and your latest Tweet.  It can only be assumed that they read that latest Tweet and unfollowed.

And just like feedback on Ebay, one unfollow deserves another.  What do you think?  Why do you follow people on Twitter?  Why do you quit following?

How about following me at http://twitter.com/russturley.
