While listening to last week’s Macbreak Weekly, Merlin Mann had a pick for the Kindle that I used for my Treo 700p. Part of the pick was feedbooks.com. The service has links to public domain books available for download. The site also links to some software that you can download to your smartphone called MobiPocket. The software is available for PalmOS, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, PC and a few other devices.

I downloaded this software on my Treo, ran it and can now visit the Feedbooks mobile site at http://feedbooks.mobi/, and download free books to my phone. Great for that waiting room at the doctor’s office or a few spare minutes on your lunch break.

If you don’t follow Merlin Mann on Twitter, you’re missing out on some of the pithiest 140 character blurbs this side of heaven. He won’t follow <s>me</s> you back. Currently the following to followed ratio is 126 to 8461. I would guess his ratio is among the lowest on Twitter. That being said, Merlin doesn’t use Twitter to promote himself or blog posts or that he Uttered. He uses Twitter as an outlet for the awesome that all Twitter users should mimic.

Anywho, speaking of heaven, Merlin uses these 140 characters to school commenters on blogs that include a link to their site in the comment. I couldn’t have put it better myself.

Literally I couldn’t.
